Review of Caroline or Change by Tony Kushner & Jeanine Tesori, at Chichester Minerva Theatre. So here’s the conundrum. It’s garnered 4 and 5 star reviews across the board. This performance, was a full house. Every seat taken. After the interval, we counted 27 empty seats. So why? Fantastic singing cast, led by Sharon D. Clarke … but for me? I really didn’t like it.

Review of the National Theatre production of Peter Shaffer’s Amadeus, (LINKED) with an orchestra on stage, six opera singers, Lucian Msamati as Salieri and Adam Gillen as Mozart. A full five star production if there ever was one.

Review of The Winter’s Tale at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse added. It was fascinating how removing extraneous concepts and reverting to a dark, candlelit Jacobean theatre made fresh sense of the play.

Review of John Ford’s ‘Tis Pity She’s A Whore at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse at Shakespeare’s Globe. A first-rate production opening the winter indoor season. The second production I’ve seen of this play this year.
